    Twentynine Palms is now formally known as the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center. This is the Marine Corps' largest base in terms of area, and home to the one of the largest training facilities in the United States. Twentynine Palms' mission is to provide arms training to ensure combat readiness for tenant commands, sailors, and Marines. The training program is known as Mojave Viper and has become the model for the of pre-Operation Iraqi Freedom deployment training. Training includes artillery, tanks, and live firing exercises. Twentynine Palms is known for its isolation and harsh desert climate. Twentynine Palms is located in San Bernardino County, California.
