Basic Allowance For Housing (BAH)
Your BAH will be used in one of two ways. You can either rent on base or you can live off base. If you live off base, you can either rent or buy. Click Here for current BAH rates.
On Base Housing ( Rent On-Base )
You can contact the housing office at 760-830-1707 / 1708 / 1709. Please keep in mind that there is a process involved in renting on Base housing to include wait times.

Twentynine Palms is now formally known as the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center which is the Marine Corps largest base and home to the one of the largest training facilities in the United States. Twentynine Palms’ mission is to provide arms training to ensure combat readiness for tenant commands, sailors, and Marines. Twentynine Palm is located in San Bernardino County, California. The training program is known as Mojave Viper and has become the model for the of pre-Operation Iraqi Freedom deployment training. Training includes artillery, tanks, and live firing exercises. Twentynine Palms is known for its isolation and harsh desert climate. A popular tourist attraction near the base is the Joshua Tree National Park. On base housing is privatized under Public-Private Venture, and military personnel area asked to check in at the Joint Family Housing Office in Building 1003. There are over 2,000 housing units offered on base by Lincoln Military Housing. For off-post housing, the housing office maintains a list of available properties as well as being able to assist with BAH rates for covering rent and utilities. There are over 20 bachelor officer rooms with refrigerators and laundry facilities. Temporary housing is provided by the Sleepy Tortoise Inn which is an on-base temporary lodging facility. The lodge offers over 35 rooms with full kitchenettes and dining utensils. Complimentary high-speed internet is also provided as well as a continental breakfast. Rooms are offered at a discounted rate for up to 30 days, and pets are allowed in specified rooms. For advance reservations, call 760-830-6583. Many rooms at the Sleepy Tortoise Inn will accommodate up to six family members.
